Wow..It's been awhile!!

I didn't realize how long it's been since I last posted. Time flies when you're back in school. I am glad to be back but don't enjoy doing the homework so much.. So time consuming. Anyway, I am still working on my film "Dopeboys". We are rehearsing right now still and should be filming in a few months or so. The date keeps getting pushed back because actors keep dropping out or not working out. We held a casting yesterday for the lead role who is also my film boyfriend. I was at the casting reading with all the auditioning actors. It was a great experience because it's very rare that an actor gets to be on the casting side of it. We are always the ones auditioning,therefore, are not able to see the whole process of choosing the actors. So, for me, it was a learning experience and very interesting. It helped me know what to do and what not to do at auditions. Also, I ended up getting cast in that play, but turned it down because it was so time consuming and now that I'm in school, I didn't want to have too much on my plate. Especially since I'm already working on the film. One more thing, I have an interview for a job tomorrow, so we will see how that goes. I have no choice but to go back to working while I'm trying to build my career. Gotta pay rent!! LOL. Anyway, That's about all that's going on with me at the moment. I will be back for new updates. Back Again With More News

Hi,

I got my script for the new film I'm working on. The title is called "Dopeboys". I really like my character after reading it. She seems like she's going to be a little challenging which is good and i think it's gonna be good for my demo. So I'm excited. I'm not sure when we are gonna start filming because some of the actors dropped out so we are looking to replace them. I have a callback for a play next weekend and i would love to get it. I haven't done a play since high school so it would be a really good experience, also, i love doing plays. I think they are so much fun. Every performance is different and every audience is different. It's really a lot of fun!!! But I am actually starting back school next week so I won't have as much time to audition as I do now. I am only taking two classes at the moment so I don't overload myself, but I am definitely going to try to take some drama classes as my electives. Hey, I can't say "no" to free acting lessons!!!

It's been awhile

Hi bloggers,

Well.. It's still slow. I wish it would busy up. lol. But still trying to find work myself and looking for a second agency. The problem is, I'm running very low on headshots and can't afford to get new ones. I have been trying to make copies of them, but they don't come out the same and I'm debating on whether I want to use them or not. I'm not sure how professional they look. I worked on The Glades again and it was hell. All the extras were saying how bad it was and how we were being tortured. I know it's part of the job. But we ended up being there from 2 pm to 5 in the am. Not only that, but the mosquitos were the worst. I got bitten so bad on both my legs it looked like I had an awful disease. Not even exaggerating. And we were in the blistering heat, considering all the shots were external. Anyway, In the meantime, I will be shooting my next feature film. I will have my script read in about a month, so I will get to see the whole story. I'm excited for that. Until next time! : )

Slow right now

I haven't had many auditions recently. I have yet to start on the feature film. The last one I did is in pre production. I watched the trailer and cannot wait to see the film. I did quit my day job finally so I will be focusing more on my career and have more time for strictly acting. I did extra work a couple weeks ago on a show called "The Glades". It's a brand new show airing on A&E. It's always a lot of fun to do extra work. I get to see how everything works in the Hollywood film world and it's always interesting. Anyway, i will write back when something else interesting happens. Until next time : )

Auditions Auditions!

Sometimes i feel like auditioning is my day job. I guess that's an actor's life. Audition after audition after audition. Lol. I just had two auditions last weekend and nailed both of them. The first one was for a feature film. I was offered a role! The director told me he would email me the script and let him know if i like it or if i want to pass. So we will wait and see. The second audition was for a short student film. I was told i was the best they have seen all day. I definitely like hearing that. Most directors don't tell you how they feel upfront so it was a nice change. Of course, i don't want to get a big head from all the compliments. But it does give me more confidence. And when i have a higher confidence level, I seem to do better in each audition. So, that's all that's going on with my career at the moment. Just striving to do better every day!!!

It's over

Hi! i finished filming the movie last week. It was so sad. I was not ready for it to be over. I can't wait for the premiere. It was such a great experience for me. Anyway, i have decided to quit my day job. I have to take off too many days to do projects and everything and it's not fair to them. So after 5 years of being with the company, it's time to venture off and do other things. I will be focusing on my career right now. And for income, i will be doing promotional modeling. Something that is very flexible and i can take as much time as i want off to focus on my acting. I am very excited for this decision! Oh and wish me luck for a commercial audition tomorrow. Thanks!! Movie Shoots!!!

Hi again!

I am sorry i haven't been on in a couple weeks. I have been busy with this film. Which i am very thankful for. I am having a blast so far. I love everyone i am working with. Everyone is very positive and very friendly and open. They are making me feel very comfortable on set. My director is planning on trying to sell the movie to air in movie theatres. So if that happens, i will be very grateful. Either way, it will be available on Amazon. So i will keep you updated with that when it does get finished with editing and everything. The Locket

so i got called to do yet another short film. It's a really short one. One day shoot. But hopefully i will be able to build my demo reel very very soon! I'm so excited for that. I can't wait to become an established actress here in Miami. Then, once i'm established here, i really want to spread my wings and take my talent to Atlanta. There is tons of film work there. The two films

Hi,
I shot my short film last week. We didn't quite finish because of all the waiting on people. It was too dark by the time everyone got there so we only had time to finish one scene on what was supposed to be the last day of filming. So we have to film one more day. But it was a lot of fun. Like i said,it was my first kissing scene. It was not as awkward as i thought it would be. Although, it's true what they say. It's all very technical and hardly romantic. Oh! I had my first script read for "Youth of Christ". It was a lot of fun and i love the script. It's going to be tons of fun to shoot and i'm super excited. My character is a girl who goes to church and loves Jesus but she can't seem to seperate herself from the party scene. So she is trying to find herself throughout the movie and in the end she finally finds herself. I think it's so inspiring. I love it and can wait to be able to portray the character. Well, not too much else is going on so i will fill you in a little later. Bye. Muah.

Yay!

I officially received the starring role in the independent film. It's called "Youth of Christ" and i play the role of Nikky. I haven't yet received the full script yet so i don't exactly know the plot yet. I just have an idea of what it is about. I am so very excited!!! Also, i am supposed to be filming a short film that i mentioned in a previous post, on Friday. Today is Wednesday and i feel like crap! My nose is running and my body feels weak. You know, that feeling that you get right before you get the flu. This could be bad. I guess I will just wait it out and see how it goes. I had an audition yesterday for a print shoot but I'm not sure it went too well. I can usually tell if I am gonna get the job or not. But you know, you never know. Who knows? I think i might have gotten the lead role in an independent film i auditioned for!! I'm so excited. my first lead role. They called me yesterday and said that they just need me to come in and read with the other actor and i think if we have chemistry then i'm in! This would be a really good opportunity for my reel and for the experience. I will definitely keep you posted! But other than that, there's nothing too much else going on. New news!

Yay! I've been cast for a really interesting short film. I am excited. It's a short film/music video kind of love story. I'm doing it in a couple of weeks so wish me luck!
Also, i have an audition this weekend for an independent film. It's a paid gig which i could really use. Also, i think it would be great for my demo reel and my resume. I am trying to build my reel but it's kind of hard when all the jobs you book, you never get a copy of your work. I'm sure any actor can relate. LOL. Anyway, i just came from an audition for BB&T so wish me luck for that. Alright, well until next time.

Hi again!

Ok. Superbowl weekend was soo fun!! When we were promoting in the cheerleader outfits, we were being asked by everyone to take pics with them. I felt like a celebrity. Speaking of celebrities, i saw a bunch. Let's see, Hilary Swank, the Wayans bros, Taylor Lautner,(Michael Duncan) The big guy from The Green Mile, Tom Arnold, and many more. It felt so LA. LOL. Anyway, I guess i didn't get the part in Army Wives but it's no biggie. There will be many more opportunities. There are so many acting opportunities right now. I love it. I'm just soo excited for what's to come in the next few months!! Until next time!

I've been MIA

sorry i've been MIA for a little while but i've been moving all weekend! I love my new place. It's more spacious and closer to the beach which is where most of my auditions are. I love it! I haven't really gotten details on the tv show yet. The man in charge is still waiting on a screenwriter but i will keep you up to date with that. I think i finally did the army wives taping correct. I had to convert every attachment and do a lot of technical things so it was a pain. Today, i had an audition for a student film. It was fun but there were a lot of people there so we will see if i got it or not. Other than that, i will be doing the cheerleading promotional work this weekend so i'm hoping to see a couple of celebrities. I will be on south beach and there are many A listers in town for the superbowl. : ). Anyway, i will be back soon. Bye XOXO Kryssy

Newest info!

Ok. so i got picked to do the cheerleading promotional job. It's good money so i'm excited! Also, today i had an audition for a virtual spokesmodeling job. I've done it once before and it's a lot of fun. You just have to have an excellent memory. Anyway, the man who auditioned me said he will use me for his future tv show about their company. So i was excited about that! Oh and last but definitely not least, i have to put myself on tape for an on tape audition for.... wait for it..... Army Wives! I've never seen the show before but it's a nice opportunity. So this time i am going to tape myself right. no matter what! ok, until next time... : )

Promotional Modeling

So, i wanna get more into promotional modeling. It pays good sometimes and there's a whole lot of it here in Miami. They want people to promote for clubs and events going on. I just went to a promotional modeling casting today to work the week of Superbowl cause it is gonna be here this year! Yay! It pays really well and i have to dress up as a cheerleader. It should be fun. Anyway, i'll keep you up to date with this. : )

Yay! Burn Notice is coming back

The Burn Notice season is about to start. So you know what that means, more extra work. As much as i would love to have a speaking role, i just absolutely love doing extra work. It's exhausting but a lot of fun. It's a good way to network, you meet a lot of people and see what goes on behind the scenes while filming. It's really cool!!! And it's also a little extra money on the side. Can't go wrong with that. There are also a lot of auditions that i'm seeing going on. So i'm happy about that. Hopefully i'll have a lot more things to write about soon!! : )

Hair Audition

Today i had an audition for a flat iron infomercial. I had to wear my natural hair! Yikes! If anyone sees my natural hair they will agree with me. It is wild and crazy. I would add a picture but i am way too embarrassed about it. It's really thick and frizzy. It's not cute. LOL. Anyway, i don't think it went too well because i was feeling too vulnerable about it that i couldn't do a good audition. If i get it, it would be great! If i don't, i will definitely understand why. Well, i guess time will tell. XOXO

One Tree HIll update

Ok, so i put myself on tape and of course my agent said i didn't do it right so they couldn't send it in. UGH! i knew it. I hate putting myself on tape. There was too much stuff in the background she said and i was supposed to slate twice. Anyway, that's the status on that. I'll let you know what else is going on soon.

One Tree Hill

Well, i have an audition for One Tree Hill. But i have to put myself on tape which i'm always nervous for because i never think i do it right. And i don't want to not get the part because i taped myself wrong. Also, i think the last time i taped myself for One Tree Hill, there was static in the background and that's very unprofessional. I hope i do it right this time. Anyway, wish me luck!

Miami Acting Scene

Honestly, when i moved to Miami i thought the acting scene would be better than what it is. They shoot movies here and stuff. But most of the time, they do their casting in LA and just use us for the extra work. It's just so frustrating sometimes. I have been an extra in Burn Notice here but i wish they would cast for a principal role here in Miami. Even CSI Miami is filmed in LA. What is that?! LOL. Anyway i will probably stay here for a few years and try to build some credits in theatre and maybe commercial work. But as far as films, i'm gonna have to move to LA or maybe even ATL. Cause i hear that Atlanta is a good market as well. Anyway, on that note. I will be back soon to keep everyone updated. Bye : )

Moving

I just got approved for my new apartment!! I am moving to a cheaper place. I am struggling with rent and have no leftover money every month. I would really like to have enough money to take some acting classes. I haven't been able to take them in a while and i love honing my craft. I am also going to take some jazz or hip hop dance lessons and voice lessons when i gain enough money. So this is the beginning of my 2010!!
